Even though hunting for new gear, items, and weapons is crucial for beating new monsters, upgrading and scaling items that already exist in the inventory is just as important. Today in our guide, we will be discussing all the necessary information about Glowing Shards in Diablo Immortal.

Diablo Immortal is the latest installment in the Diablo franchise developed by Blizzard Entertainment and NetEase. In Diablo Immortal, you can choose between six classes, each having different advantages and disadvantages. You can select between different classes like Barbarian, Wizard, Crusader, Monk, Necromancer, and more.

For more on classes, also read our guide on best classes and Diablo Immortal class tier list. Since it’s a massive MMORPG, you are bound to come across different world bosses like Tax Collector, Lord Martanos, Ancient Nightmare, Zaerhud, and Sandstorm Golem in Diablo Immortal.

In addition to world bosses, you can also participate in raids and face more formidable foes, Vitaath, Lassal, and Blood Rose, who will test your might. Even though the Diablo Immortal retains the series’ isometric view, it’s an online-only game, which means you need to be connected with Diablo Immortal Servers at all times to play it.

Glowing Shards are basically materials you can use to upgrade gear and weapons after Rank 5 at Blacksmith. In other words, you can’t upgrade your gear and weapons after Rank 5 unless you have Glowing Shards in your inventory.

There are a lot of ways and methods you can use to acquire Glowing Shards. They are not as rare as other upgrade materials like Enigmatic Crystals, but it’s still better to know where you can find these materials so you don’t spend a lot of your precious time searching for these materials.

While we will be listing multiple methods of acquiring Glowing Shards, we also mention which ones are the best and fastest, so make sure to read till the end. Before reading further, why not read our Diablo Immortal Ashwold Cemetery guide?

There are multiple ways through which you can get your hands on Glowing Shards in Diablo Immortal. At first, finding Glowing Shards might seem like a hassle, but in reality, they aren’t. Most of the methods used for acquiring Glowing Shards are the same as Scarp Materials and Enchanted Dust.

While there might be other ways, too, below, we have listed some of the most common ways of acquiring Glowing Shards. If you keep using the below-mentioned methods every day, by the end of the week, you will have enough shards to upgrade any type of gear or weapon.

So without further ado, let’s discuss these methods:

Completing Dungeons is a great source of getting your hand on different types of resources. You fight a selection of monsters and bosses, and after slaying the boss that awaits you at the end of the dungeon, you will be awarded items according to your difficulty level.

Dungeons can be completed in 5-10 mins and can be done both solo and co-op. So keep completing different dungeons, and before you know it, your inventory will be filled with Glowing Shards. One of the best ways of acquiring Glowing Shards in Diablo Immortal is through salvaging your legendary and set items at Blacksmith. This doesn’t mean you should just salvage any legendary item.

You should only salvage those legendary items in your inventory that are duplicates or extra. Furthermore, before salvaging them, make sure you extract their essence as well. For more on the essence, consider reading our Diablo Immortal Essence guide and learn how to transfer and inherit it.

Immortals and Shadows, or two opposing clans in Diablo Immortals, and you cannot be part of both at the same time; if you join one, you have to take up arms against the other. Well, whichever you join, acquiring Glowing Shards won’t be a problem. Speaking of Shadow Factions, also consider reading our Shadow Lottery Clan and learning how to join them.

Each clan offers a different set of activities, contracts, and challenges every day, which you can complete. Upon completion of these events, you will be awarded different items, resources, crafting gear, weapons, and more.

One of those awards is Glowing Shards. So make sure you keep an eye out for all types of daily events in order to obtain this gear and weapon upgrading material.

Another easy of Glowing Shards is through completing the “Purify The Corruption Event”. In order to do this first, you need to reach level 60. For more on leveling up, consider reading our Diablo Immortal Tips & Tricks guide and learn how to level up fast.

After reaching level 60, change your difficulty level to “Hell 1”. With difficulty changed, you can now participate in the “Purify The Corruption Event” by visiting the Dark Wood. Now all you have to do is keep killing enemies until your corruption meter reaches 100%.

With the corruption meter at 100%, a shadow clone of yourself will spawn. After defeating the shadow clone, you will obtain a Glowing Shard as a reward.

You can participate in Battleground Rank events by visiting the Battleground Captain in Westmarch. Every time you gain a new rank in Battlegrounds, you obtain a handful of Glowing Shards.

In addition to that, by regularly participating in Battlegrounds, you can earn a lot of different items as well, such as gold, XP, orbs, gems, and other different types of awards. Also, consider reading our guide on Diablo Immortal Fervent Fang.

There aren’t a lot of Glowing Shards you can earn through this method, but it’s still a method you can use to earn some nonetheless. Adept’s Prizes can be located beside the Prodigy’s Path inside the “Services” tab in the game shop.

Adept’s Prizes give you various rewards after reaching different paragon levels in Diablo Immortal. You can get two Glowing Shards after reaching paragon level 55. As mentioned above, it’s not a great method, but if you are close to reaching paragon level 55, you should go for it.

This is the easiest method of all. In Diablo Immortal, you get various daily rewards just for logging in. So all you need to do is just make sure to log in every day and claim your daily free shard from the chest available in the shop.

Obviously, you won’t be grinding a material if it has no use. Glowing Shards can not only be used to upgrade materials but also for purchasing other materials as well. Two uses of Glowing Shards are given below:

Similar to Scrap Material and Enchanted Dust, Glowing Shards can be used to purchase Enigmatic Crystals. These materials are required to upgrade endgame gear and weapons.

Enigmatic Crystals are hard to come by, so it’s always a better option to trade Glowing Shards for Enigmatic Crystals through Smithing Materials Vendor. While you are at it, also consider reading our Diablo Immortal Aspirant’s Key guide and learn about its location and uses.

Once your gear and weapons reach level 5, Enchanted Dust and Scrap Materials won’t be enough to upgrade them. Glowing Shards will become a necessity for upgrading materials past rank 5. Also, consider reading our Diablo Immortal Transmog System guide and learn how this system works.

Farming Glowing Shards is not a difficult task, but it can be quite grindy. Even if you just follow the “Salvaging Items” and “Purify The Corruption”  method, you will have enough Glowing Shards for any kind of upgrade.

So, keep farming and salvaging the legendary items for quick shards. Secondly, make sure you consistently participate in the “Purify The Corruption” event in Dark Wood. Unlike other events, it doesn’t have a long cooldown period.

The cooldown period of this event is only 20 minutes long, so make sure you are participating in this event daily.
