CLEVELAND, Ohio— Until July, if you were Black, your kidney function was likely assessed differently than everyone else. Not any longer.

Researchers have eliminated race as a factor in assessing kidney health, and they say it is a step toward ensuring equality of care and eliminating racial biases on transplant waiting lists.
